To write off some taxes, I went on a consumerist rampage in purchasing a 12.1″ Travelmate, two 3G support enabled cellphones (one for my dad), a 20″ LCD monitor and of course gambled again on ULIP.
The smell of consumerist fart still pervades my {office} room and I should thank the taxation policy of Governments in help turn a pseudo-ascetic to a greedy consumer. Never in my life had I held a mobile phone that was worth more than USD 40 (to the old exchange rate) and even if I had one, it might have been through a Carrier provider’s contract offer.
But I should say that I am enjoying my travelmate and Samsung LCD display. Both form a lethal combination with the dual desktop support from out-of-the-box Linux Mint 6 - Felicia. I had to configure the on-board sound card, in-built webcam and wi-fi card. It was the only time that I had to get my sleeves dirty and I love the upgraded flavour of Ubuntu (read Felicia) so far!
Initially my mother was holding the best cell phone among the three of us. Now the deck of cards have been shuffled unless other wise she tricks my father in to exchanging his new cellphone (which I hardly suspect). Oh! I love the Holy Hindu Cows. They are so docile!
