Adios Flickr!

“The best moments in life are never ever captured by a camera. It is the plain truth. They reside in memory.”

For people that followed me on Flickr, a big thank you! I have moved out of Flickr and on an experimental basis - put some photos at the following link. It is a fledgling site and I hope to improve it in the future. There is a portfolio of my experiments over the last 2 to 3 years. I will add some more as time permits.

Like I had mentioned in one of my earlier Flickr posts, I have taken a break from photography. I still haven’t recovered from the need to present Photos in a personally satisfying manner. The truth is…only if I enjoy what I’m doing, the result will be personally satisfying and rewarding. I am temporarily lost in my quest and I hope this four month self-imposed exile refreshes me.

I sold off my earlier lens kit; Tokina 12-24mm wide angle lens and Canon 28-135mm IS lens. To meet my shooting range, I have invested on Sigma 17-70mm. I am pretty sure it will prove handy and reduce the shoulder load. I haven’t found an opportunity to use the Canon Speedlite 430EX. It has been lying idle for more than a couple of years. Tells you how rarely I use my external flash unit.

For those that take to photography, keep clicking! There is no fixed mantra. He who practices, evolves! Observe different genre of photography and experiment one that you are comfortable to begin with. If you want to take yourself to the next level, you have to constantly challenge yourself. Creativity comes with a price and you should be able to handle the price. The rest as I would put it, stick within their safe limits wanting not to be challenged.

I work better when I’m provoked.
