O.K. Let me cut down on the expletive. I would like to quote Thomas Jefferson here:

I am trying to say that Jefferson, had he lived today, would have voted against Proposition 8 in CaIifornia - if he was a resident of the State. In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders, condemned reparative therapy in 2000 and endorsed same-sex marriage in 2005.
Now, what is the issue with the conservatives in California? With an economy in doldrums and a Country at war, would you derive more pleasure out of banning Gay marriages? I mean, how long should the Gays of America run and hide to places where they can freely move about without being heckled? I find it extremely silly to have a Proposition to ban Gay marriages in the State of California. Is there any rationality in banning Gay marriages? Did Gays swindle away your investment money and deposited it safely in a bank in Cayman Islands? Or did Gays sexually abuse under-aged children like your morality preaching Priest?
Only a retard can think about mixing morality with same-sex marriages. Now coming back to the whole concept of registering marriages…can you tell me what the fuck it is meant to be? I mean, if you love someone, do you need to document your love in a form of legal approval? If so, why doesn’t a mother and a child have a certificate proving that they are related? When I bring up the Proposition 8 issue, i should also bring up the directive from Supreme Court of India on compulsory registration of marriages. I find it ridiculous too! With all due respect to the Judiciary, i would like to say that this directive (as in registering marriages) to be highly conservative and has nothing to indicate the progressiveness of human mind.
I find it very similar to a person on parole that is asked by the Court to drop by the nearest police station to sign the attendance sheet. Why? Do you accredit a relationship only if the parties involved register their relationship? In the case of same-sex marriage, even if they try to register their relationship, do you thwart their attempts? Come on, how fair is this? Do you determine social welfare benefits based on legally approved relationship?
Though I consider a relationship between a person to another (be it of opposite or same-sex) to be private and one-to-one, the liberty should be up to the involved parties to declare to public about their relationship. I don’t see a reason why the legality or judicial system should poke its head in between and determine if their relationship is legal or illegal.
Psychologically speaking, in a relationship, people trust each other not because their significant others are of opposite sex. It might be a biological factor for anyone to develop an inclination towards a person of the same-sex. The hormonal changes that determines the transition from childhood to adolescence to being an adult also plays its role in some individuals to get attracted towards people of same sex. This could be a biological change than an issue. Consider the case of trans-sexuals…though they physically appear to be a man, internally they feel like a woman. How hard is this to comprehend and how can it become a taboo? On top of this, how do you mix morality on the basis of your religious preaching? I mean, at this rate I have to say that either the Church preaches bullshit that Jesus didn’t preach or probably *the messenger* preached something according to social influences of that particular period.
That’s right! In the name of culture and religion, patriarchal societies largely restricted the activities of women to household chores denying them the basic freedom of an individual. Even woman suffrage is not endorsed by some modern day democracies. Now, would you continue to allow this discrimination in the name of culture and religion? I see it as a work of retards that invoke religion and suppress the voice of progressive life advocates. Large parts of the world still like to live in the relative lack of awareness of its voting majority.
I would say that there are more pressing global issues now than finding a sadistic pleasure in disappointing Gays around the world. Fuck the religious zealots! Let humanity live in peace! And more importantly do not fall victim to a religious discourse that polarizes the Society.
