Chinese Premier League

Imagine a situation:

“G W Bush pitches a leather ball and Hu Jintao on the other end sways his bat. Gordon Brown keeps the wicket while Fidel Castro is tired to be the non striker”

Hell breaks loose when the Chinese President announces his intention to start a Chinese Premier League to counter the threat of Indian Premier League. The only difference, the Government of India has no intention of interfering with the functioning of BCCI or IHF. Why would the Government interfere with such a lucrative organization like BCCI?

BCCI with all its money and muscle power can see to it who gets the Sports Minister Portfolio. They can even think about staging a coup and forming a puppet Government that would officially serve as a “rubber stamp” to BCCI’s demands. If you think, democracy is a spectator sport, then check out the following article on how Authoritarian regimes handle “natural disasters”.

Quakes in Burma & China

If you think that I am barking at the Communists, rewind the Clock towards second half of 2005. How come a nation that touts itself a “defender of freedom”fail miserably with the rescue effort and clearing the aftermath of “Hurricane Katrina”.May be the Burmese don’t give a feministic name to nature’s fury. Something the t3rminator of “axis of evil” is very creative about.
