The Placebo effect

I suffer from acute Sinusitis. I go to Doctor A. Doc A prescribes an expensive medicine, say, “Allegra”. The drug isn’t a permanent cure for Sinusitis. It is only a temporary cure for allergic cold. The so-called miracle drug doesn’t do any wonder to me. So, I end up with Doctor B. Doc B prescribes a more common drug, say, “Cetrizine”. The drug works the same way as “Allegra” and is affordable.

Moral of the story: Visit to Doc A to address the nasal pain ends up increasing my anal pain. This is what I term as the influence of Capitalism in the field of medicine, practiced in a {so-called} Socialistic and Democratic country like India.

Hush Hush: How much would “Allegra” pay for Doc A’s trip to Seychelles in the name of a conference?

“The Placebo effect”: Why can’t the Docs prescribe a medicine that would serve the purpose? Did someone reading this post say “Preventive medicine”? I’m sorry, my ENT is so fucked up that I cannot hear you. Houston, Roger me?
