Finally, I spent some time to post-process a select set of snaps from my recent trip to Indonesia and Cambodia. There is also a set of snaps dedicated to S-21. I have added Sepia Filter to S-21 snaps. For more information on S-21, I would request you to visit the Toul Sleng Museum site.
I should admit that I am happy with some of the snaps and more importantly it brought me out of an eight month self imposed exile from Photography. I had thought about selling the Camera and Lens during the first leg of the trip. Somehow, things changed! There is no particular genre of photography that I had in my mind. It is an assortment comprising different genres.
When I look back at the trip on how it began? I think, I was kind of tempted by Antony Bourdain’s visit to Ibu Oku restaurant in Ubud, Bali. There was a Rough Guide travel book on Bali and Lombok that was lying idle for almost couple of years. So, definitely the latter wasn’t the reason. In Jan 2009, I made a reservation through AirAsia site to visit Indonesia and Cambodia. Obvious reasons include the “visa on arrival” for Indian Passport Holders.
Indonesia was a pleasant surprise and was fantastic to say the least. Cambodia offered mixed experience. I would largely attribute it to the lack of adventure from my end. I resorted to in and around Phnom Penh.
