I’m backpacking to Indonesia and Cambodia starting 16th April till 3rd May. This is my second visit to Cambodia in precisely fourteen months. This time I’m planning to visit Phnom Penh and pay a visit to S-21 Museum and then the Killing Fields. I am planning to cover Stung Meanchey Garbage Dump. I’ve been quite inspired by Maciej Dakowicz’s work on Stung Meanchey Garbage Dump [Check out Maciej's other works. It is a good place to learn for aspiring street photographers!].
So far, the plan is to spend four days at Phnom Penh. I am planning to include a visit to a French run NGO and might wander the streets of Phnom Penh – if clueless. The initial couple of weeks will be spent in Indonesia. Bali-Ubud, Trek at Mount Bromo, Yogyakarta, Borobudur, Prambanan, Bandung and Jakarta are on the list. Indonesia has the second highest endemic species – next only to Australia (or probably Brazil – correction requested).
I am just excited to see how this trip goes on! BTW, earlier this year, AirAsia launched its service in India and has chosen Tiruchirappalli as its hub. It is targeting the Tier-2 cities. I have already tried AirAsia in Thailand. They are no frills airlines, similar to SpiceJet or Kingfisher Air Deccan in India. You typically pay for anything that your intend apart from your purchased air-ticket. I mean, even for your checked-in luggage and on-board meal. But then, it still works out cheap for a to-and-fro ticket from Trichy to Kuala Lumpur.
If you are looking for a budget accommodation you can check out Hostel World. I will certainly recommend its highly rated ones. They are usually good on money, safety and comfort.
I end up this post by quoting Lao Tzu:
“A good traveller has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving”
